Yesterday was an important day. The Leader of the Free World and the Member of the Axis of Evil went on a collision course. Almost. Well, they avoided each other at lunch at least.
Dubya spoke in the morning (actually noon…amidst all the rumbling stomachs) and within 15 minutes summed up all the speeches he has been giving around the country. Very efficient, Simple, Straightforward. And if you have done this many times, it comes easy. Boy, did he seem happy with his performance? He didn’t wink at his audience though. No, not this time. He was not in Middle-Yamrica, you see. This time, he managed to talk about all the very relevant issues and places – Palestine, Israel, Darfur (surprise!), Afghanistan (ah yes!), Lebanon (really?), Eye-Raq (of course!), and Eye-Ran. Just last week he chided the UN for not doing enough in Darfur. He actually uttered the G-word (you know, the one that Yamrica refused to use in Rwanda) and also said my favorite word – Nukular! I guess these topics are better than….the Geneva Convention maybe?
In the evening or primetime as the Yamrican news media put it, Mr. You-got-nothing-on-me addressed the gathering, and showed that the Verbal Diarrhea is not just an Indian trait. In response to Dubya’s five page speech, Mr. President of Eye-Ran spoke in long sentences and interestingly seemed to end all the first paragraphs with questions? Is he copying Fox channel’s headlines here? In a moment of idealism or maybe craziness, he called for reforms in the Security Council (What??) and asked for a permanent seat for members of the Non-Aligned Movement (does this really exist? Not aligned with whom?), Organization of the Islamic Conference, and the African states with full veto power! Maybe he had one too many (you know, sherbets).
I can picture Dubya saying, “No kidding”…and T-bone saying, “Bollocks! Hey, George, d'ya want a Pint of beer?"
All hell broke loose today!! Senor Chavez spoke today and called Dubya - Devil! Looks like the UN General Assembly is the place to be...Front row tickets, please!

hee hee hee... ha ha ha.... your dubya posts keep me updated on world and yamrican events better than bbc-cnn-ndtv- blah.
what someone said- this whole thing is a big staged performance by both sides. waaalll... only time will tell. weren't bin laden and the u.s. on the same side not so long ago?
yes, sadly this is one example what the Yamricans will use to say that the UN is a useless institution. although, there are others who called our attention to the persistent problems of poverty...the terror of hunger.
I have lit an incense stick in my room. The waves of ash that are formed at the tip of the stick are so beautiful that it hits a chord in my soul and makes me smile. There is no wind and yet the patterns are changing. Sometimes, it shoots up in a cylindrical column, and sometimes there are wisps of wavy movements which then makes shapes of circles, mangoes, and clouds. The incense stick has died now… there’s only a stub, but a moment of beauty created is still in the air just like the smell of the incense stick.

p.s. I wrote this in lieu of writing my methods. I hope this will help you procrastinate as well as I am and write more entries, even if it is about 'lost glasses' and 'schizophrenia'.
