Ah! The end of an eventful month - birthdays, weddings, reunions, graduations, getting off the writer’s block, finishing chapters, ownership of property, and a time for adieus to family & friends.

Cannot believe it has been a year since I rode a bike…last time, we were having a mock tour de france with SS, M, BonFerroni, and me trying to out-cycle each other…and be Thomas Voeckler. Where is he right now? Nursing a sore-ass…per-Aps (like ze French would say). Hope that we can get back to that sometime….
As I sat gulping loads of noodles, dim-sum, shrimp, and sesame salad at Comrade Guo’s abode…I felt as though it was a last meal, with good friends. Something was slowly changing, the feeling of loss, the unwillingness to let go of the familiar faces…the silence before good-byes…and the realization that some relationships will find a place in nostalgia and hopefully will remain fresh as time, distance, and life takes it toll…But as the anticipated goodbyes were finally made, I also realized that that my time would come too…a strange sense of loss and gain.
To everything, turn, turn, turn.

Good post. but me happy you will be four hours away instead of fourteen. fills a gap made when ma and cm left.
Feeling a sense of loss myself.Was in a seaside beach two days ago, no cares in the world, feeling my brain vegetate while I watched white sails across an impossibly blue sea and sky. brain was vegetating so much, i was seriously contemplating a tatoo. hee hee.
Now back to grey concrete and glaring computer screens. plus endless meetings with boring administrators. bah. double bah.
